GetDogVerdict publishes buying research for dog owners. This page explains who is responsible for what we publish, how we handle sources, how we use AI, how free products and any commercial relationships are kept separate from our conclusions, and how we correct mistakes. For how we weigh evidence and reach a verdict, see How We Review.
Who is responsible for our content
GetDogVerdict is published by an independent owner-operator under the pen name Casey Hollis. Casey Hollis is a pen name used as the site’s editorial byline. It does not indicate a veterinary degree or any other professional credential.
A person reads and approves every article before it is published.
GetDogVerdict does not provide veterinary advice. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. If your dog has swallowed part of a toy, has a broken tooth, or shows signs of illness, contact a licensed veterinarian.
How we choose what to cover
We start with a problem dog owners face, such as a dog that destroys toys quickly or a chew that may be too hard, and then look at which product types address it. We do not choose products because of any commercial relationship.
Sources
- We rely on manufacturer documentation for specifications, sizing, and stated use, and on independent veterinary or scientific sources for claims about health, dental injury, and ingestion.
- Owner reviews are treated as signals, not as measurements. We do not turn them into failure rates.
- We link to the sources we rely on so you can check them.
- Specifications, sizes, and product details can change. Where a page depends on them, we show when it was last reviewed.
Our use of AI
We use AI tools to help organize sources and draft text. AI output is not treated as evidence. Claims that matter to a purchase decision are checked against the sources we cite, and a person reviews each article before it is published. The person who publishes an article is responsible for what it says.
What we do not claim
We do not claim to have physically evaluated a product unless we actually did, and in that case we say exactly what was done. Most GetDogVerdict articles are research-based, and each one says so.
Free products, commercial relationships, and independence
GetDogVerdict currently does not earn commissions from links on this site. If we add affiliate links in the future, commissions will not decide which products we cover, how we interpret evidence, or what verdict a product receives, and a notice will appear above the first such link in an article. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
We may accept free products or samples from manufacturers or retailers. If we do, we say so in the article, and it does not change a verdict. Any sponsored content would be labeled as sponsored.
Updates and corrections
We update articles when products change or when better evidence becomes available, and we show the date. If you find an error, write to us through the Contact page or at [email protected]. We will check the claim against its source, correct confirmed errors, and note significant corrections on the page.
